
Wolves Women edged Plymouth Argyle 1-0 in the FA WNL Play-Off at the Pirelli Stadium to clinch promotion to Barclays WSL 2.
Wanderers’ goalkeeper Alex Brooks had to make a double save in the opening minute or so, from Phoebie Pool and Olivia Francis
Wolves applied pressure but Argyle kept getting in behind, with Francis shooting narrowly wide and Tianna Teisar having her shot saved.
Ellie Noble also forced a save from Brooks, who tipped over a angled strike from Teisar.
After the break, Wolves’ Charlotte Greengrass had a header saved by goalkeeper Hermione Cull, the forward then got through on goal but her shot hit the post and just stayed out.
Argyle caused their own problems playing out from the back, Greengrass intercepting to whip the ball home for a 64th-minute breakthrough.
Poole got on the end of a dangerous ball into the box, but Brooks was behind the shot.
