West Ham Women moved up to 10th place in the Barclays WSL with a 2-0 victory at Aston Villa, whom they now only trail by one point.

Ebony Salmon broke through the Villa backline, but goalkeeper Megan Walsh made the save, and Lynn Wilms’ follow-up was kept out by Ines Belloumou.

Riko Ueki’s deflected effort for West Ham hit the post and rebounded to Leila Wandeler, who took too long to shoot, allowing Oceane Deslandes to block.

Ueki made an 86th-minute breakthrough for the Hammers with a chip over goalkeeper Sabrina D’Angelo.

The victory was sealed in added time as Ueki played in Seraina Piubel to slot home.
