Wolves Women beat Burnley 3-0 in Barclays WSL2, with all the goals coming in a 10-minute spell just before the break.

The result gave Wolverhampton their second win in three games and put them level on points with leaders Sunderland ahead of Sunday’s fixtures, whil Burnley still search for a first victory.

Amber Hughes opened the scoring on 36 minutes with a close-range header from Melissa Lawley’s cross.

Just a couple of minutes later, Mel Filis doubled the lead with the aid of a wicked deflection.

In first-half stoppage time, Anna Morphet scored from the spot after Yana Daniëls was brought down by Emma Siddall.

Burnley battled to reduce the arrears, but Alethea Paul struck the top of the crossbar from a free kick, and Brenna McPartlan saw her long-range effort tipped over the bar by goalkeeper Emily Orman.
