Man City Women came from 2-1 down to defeat Liverpool 4-2 in the Barclays WSL at the Joie Stadium on Friday evening.

City’s Iman Beney required treatment for a head injury in the first 30 seconds, but Carlotta Wamser played in Lauren Hemp for an early goal for the hosts.

Liverpool turned the game around by the half-hour mark, as Vivien Endemann set up Alice Bergstrom to score before getting the second herself despite the efforts of Ayaka Yamashita.

Khadija Shaw hit post and in first-half stoppage time stabbed home the equaliser after Hemp’s shot evaded Khiara Keating.

Keating kept out efforts from Shaw and Yui Hasegawa, but in the 90th minute, Grace Clinton’s cross was turned into her own net by the unfortunate Grace Fisk.

In added time, Hemp broke from her own half to secure the victory and a third straight win for her side.
