Manchester United came from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Manchester City at Old Trafford and claim a top-three place in the Barclays Women’s Super League.

Liverpool 0-2 Everton
Manchester United 2-2 Manchester City
Crystal Palace 2-2 Leicester City
Tottenham Hotspur 0-1 Chelsea
West Ham United 2-3 Aston Villa

Manchester United only needed a draw to secure a Champions League place at the expense of Manchester City but the latter went two up through Laia Aleixandri and a powerful Rebecca Knaak header. Grace Clinton buried a header of her own to halve the deficit before the break, Melvine Malard levelling midway through the second half but moments later United’s Aoife Mannion was sent off. However, the hosts held on to deny City a European place.

Everton beat Liverpool at Anfield to move within two points of their Merseyside rivals in the table. Katja Snoeijs gave the visitors an early advantage aided by Kelly Gago, the Toffees doubling their lead with little over 20 minutes left, as Karen Holmgaard scored from a Toni Payne cross. Although Holmgaard was sent off for a second caution, her side’s two-goal lead was preserved.

Newly-crowned Chelsea celebrated their title at Tottenham Hotspur, where Catarina Macário got the sole goal from the spot after winning the first-half penalty herself.

Rachel Daly set up Ebony Salmon for a early opener for Aston Villa with a through ball but West Ham were soon level, as Shekiera Martinez headed home a delivery by Verena Hanshaw. Riko Ueki turned in a ball from Katrina Gorry to complete the turnaround but Daly brought Villa back to 2-2 from outside the box. Chasity Grant later scored wahat proved to be the decider for Villa.

Leicester City struck in first-half added time away to Crystal Palace, Hannah Cain the scorer aided by Janice Cayman. The Eagles equalised through Annabel Blanchard’s penalty, given for Courtney Nevin’s foul on Josie Green. Shannon O’Brien restored the Foxes lead in added time, only for Abbie Larkin to hit back for Palace.
