Chelsea Women took less than four minutes to wipe out Manchester United’s three-goal advantage and go on to win the World Sevens Football Final 6-5.
Jess Park fired home the opening goal, and although Sjoek Nusken buried the equaliser, Marc Skinner’s side would storm into a 4-1 lead.
Park blasted her team back ahead, Anna Sandberg headed in for 3-1 before Melvine Malard slotted home.
Aggie Beever-Jones responded with a swift brace and Ellie Carpenter tapped in to put Chelsea back on level terms for a half-time score of 4-4.
Seconds after the restart, Lea Schuller restored United’s lead, but Golden Ball winner and top scorer Beever-Jones levelled with a hat-trick completing header and then won the match with a solo effort in the last minute.
Aston Villa duo Rachel Maltby (Breakout Player) and Sabrina D’Angelo (Golden Glove) won individual awards.
Villa had lost out in the semi-final 8-2 to Chelsea, while Manchester United eliminated Everton 5-2.
