The Adobe Women’s FA Cup Final brings together Brighton and Manchester City at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, just weeks after the Seagulls stunned City in the WSL.

Their 3-2 league win made Albion the only team to come from behind against the 2025-26 WSL champions, and the only top-flight side to score three goals in a single game against the Citizens across all competitions this season.

This is Brighton’s first-ever Women’s FA Cup Final and their debut in a major final. Man City, three-time winners of the cup, are making their first final appearance since the 2021/22 season when they finished runners-up to Chelsea. Both teams pulled off impressive comebacks in the semi-finals, overturning 2-0 deficits away from home to win 3-2 and book their spots in this year’s final.

Team News

Manchester City will be without Laura Wienroither and Iman Beney, who recently picked up injuries, and join Sam Coffey and Aemu Oyama on the sidelines. Lauren Hemp has been back training and will be available, with Ayaka Yamashita, Rebecca Knaak, and Vivianne Miedema also returning. Brighton have no new knocks, just the long-term injuries to Marit Auée and Aisha Masaka.

Top Scorers

Sammy Rowland of Leyton Orient is set to win The Mitre Golden Ball competition, which recognises the top scorer in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup. Rowland has scored 15 goals in this season’s competition and is on track to become the first-ever two-time winner of the award, having previously claimed it in the 2022/23 season while playing for Hashtag United.

As the current leader in the standings, she will take part in the pre-match build-up by bringing the match ball out and placing it on the plinth.

The top scorers from the two teams still in the competition are Khadija Shaw with four goals, and Laura Coombs, Madison Haley, and Lauren Hemp with three each.

Where to watch

A crowd of around 50,000 is expected at the final, and tickets are still available at wembleystadium.com/tickets. Brighton fans will be in the East end, while Manchester City supporters will be in the West.

The Fan Zone opens at 11am, and general admission starts at 1pm.

Channel 4’s live coverage kicks off at 2:15pm, while TNT Sports 1 airs from 10:30 to 11:45 and then again starting at 2:00pm.

The match will be broadcast live in 76 territories across 14 different broadcasters and is watchable in the rest of the world via the Adobe Women’s FA Cup YouTube channel.

Goal-line technology and VAR will be in use, while referee Melissa Burgin will be assisted by Anastasiya Voloshchuk and Leoni Harland, with Phoebe Cross as the fourth official.
