Falkirk beat East Fife 2-1 at Airdrie FC to take their place in the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League 2.
Falkirk had earned their place in the play-off as runners-up in the Barclays Scottish Women’s Championship, while it was the last chance for East Fife to stay in SWPL 2 after finishing next-to-bottom.
Anna Murray headed Falkirk into a 13th-minute lead as the Bairns went 1-0 up at half-time.
Rigby Wilson dramatically equalised for East Fife, scoring straight from a corner, as her side battled to retain their SWPL 2 status.
But Caitlin McFarlane netted what proved to be the decisive goal for Falkirk midway through the second period.
Head Coach, Craig Tully:
“What an achievement of gaining promotion to the SWPL 2.
A massive congratulations to all the players and staff that have been on this journey. A new chapter awaits now and only onwards and upwards for this talented group of girls.” 💙 pic.twitter.com/lODJuDpoPP— Falkirk Women (@FalkirkWomen_) May 29, 2026
