Republic of Ireland Women repeated their midweek World Cup Qualifying League A Group 2 victory over Poland.

Carla Ward’s team moved to six points from four games, following up their 3-2 victory in Poland with a 1-0 home win in front of over 18,000 fans at the Aviva Stadium.

Emily Murphy hit the crossbar, with Marissa Sheva firing wide on the follow-up effort.

The goal came just before half-time, with Sheva scoring when goalkeeper Kinga Szemik could not clear a Kyra Carusa delivery.

Denise O’Sullivan nearly doubled the lead late on, but her shot hit the bar.
