Charlton Athletic and Birmingham City are two WSL 2 teams left in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup, each aiming to become the first non-WSL side to make the semi-finals since Everton did so in 2015.

The Addicks may have the easier tie of the two against Liverpool but have suffered a slump in form with three defeats in four, which has seen Birmingham take top spot from them on goal difference after three victories in a row. That form will be tested by the visit of WSL leaders Manchester City.

Chelsea are the holders and have won four of the last five finals, and they host Tottenham, who were runners-up two years ago.

Looking ahead to the challenge, Spurs boss Martin Ho told tottenhamhotspur.com: “I think, in the competition, we’ve done well. You have to play the top teams if you want to win the competition. I think we had a good run, the last game was a very good one for the neutral, definitely. Going to extra time, going to penalties and then showing a really strong mentality in that game. We know that this test against Chelsea is going to be tough, but we know that in the games we’ve played them this season, they’ve been really tight. We’ve had numerous opportunities, we’ve controlled parts of those games. We need to go in with the confidence there.”

Despite winning the Cup a record 14 times, Arsenal last reached the final in 2021 and most recently lifted the trophy a decade ago.

Their quarter-final visitors are Brighton, who have only made the semi-finals twice – in the 1975–76 season and again in 2023, when they narrowly lost 3-2 to Manchester United.

While the Gunners have generally dominated clashes with Albion, the Seagulls did claim a 4-2 win in May 2025.
