West Ham Women have confirmed that goalkeeper Kinga Szemik has joined Frauen-Bundesliga side Hamburger SV on a permanent deal.
The Poland international joined the Hammers in the summer of 2024 and featured in 23 matches across all competitions during her debut season, helping the Irons set new club records in the WSL.
After representing her country at UEFA Women’s Euro 2025, their debut in a major tournament, Szemik went on to make 22 appearances last season, recording three clean sheets across all competitions.
Christoph Rohmer, Director of Youth Development & Sports Strategy at HSV, told hsv.de: “Kinga is a goalkeeper of the highest international level who has impressively demonstrated her quality on the biggest European stage in recent years. With her experience from the Women’s Super League, she will not only bring additional stability to our young team, but also play an important leadership role.”
Szemik said: “I chose Hamburg because I was looking for a place where I could develop further, gain new experiences and get better as a player.“
