Wales Women ended a seven-match losing run with a 1-1 draw in a friendly against South Korea, played at Ciudad Deportiva in Malaga.
Olivia Clark gave the ball away early on, but Korea’s effort went over the bar. After that, Wales began a good spell and were soon a goal ahead.
Sophie Ingle saw her shot tipped over the bar, but from Lily Woodham’s corner, she headed home.
Ingle had a header saved on the line by Kim Min-jung, Hannah Cain couldn’t connect with a chance in front of goal, and a Woodham cross was almost met at the far post by Ingle.
Ji So-yun threatened an equaliser, but Gemma Evans made an important block, while Wales had a goal disallowed for a foul on the keeper and Carrie Jones’ effort was tipped wide.
In the first three minutes of the second half, Carrie Jones nearly got on the end of a great Ffion Morgan cross, and substitute Elise Hughes hit the post.
Choi Yoo-jung was given a golden opportunity only for Clark to make the save, another chance for Wales went begging as Jones dragged her shot wide.
South Korea were level midway through the second period, Kim Min-ji free to head home after a short corner routine.
