Wales were relegated from the UEFA Women’s Nations League top tier after a 1-0 loss in Denmark.

Wales lost Mayzee Davies to injury early on and were indebted to the crossbar denying Pernille Harder and Olivia Clark for tipping over an effort from Amalie Vangsgaard.

When Ceri Holland had a shot saved, Jess Fishlock was first to the rebound and the ball appeared to have just crossed the line before being cleared, with no goal given.

Josie Green deflected a close-range Harder shot over the top, with Clark saving the follow-up.

Just two minutes into the second half, Harder took the ball away from two opponents and slotted home the opening goal.

Rhian Wilkinson’s side finish up against Italy on Tuesday at Swansea City, kick-off 6.30pm.
