
Arsenal trail 2-1 to Lyon in the UEFA Women’s Champions League Semi-Finals, Chelsea are 4-1 behind to Barcelona going into the second leg.
Lyon’s Kadidiatou Diani was sent clear to slot Lyon in front past Manuela Zinsberger, the goal being flagged offside but given after a VAR check.
Melchie Dumornay hit the Gunners’ crossbar from 35 yards and at the end of the first half, Alessia Russo headed against the Lyon woodwork.
Caitlin Foord was denied by Christiane Endler and Russo’s follow-up effort was blocked by a defender.
But Arsenal were given a penalty in the last 15 minutes, Endler catching Leah Williamson instead of the ball with an attempted punch, Mariona Caldentey converting from the spot.
Lyon swiftly regained the lead, Dumornay storming into the box and scoring with a deflected shot.

Barcelona were given an early penalty with a handball decision given against Nathalie Bjorn after a VAR check but Hannah Hampton kept out Alexia Putellas’s penalty with her legs.
Barca did take the lead thought after 35 minutes, Putellas sending Ewa Pajor clear to tuck the ball past Hampton and into the far corner.
Aggie Beever-Jones threatened with a free kick at the end of the half but Cata Coll got down and turned in behind.
Claudia Pina doubled the lead with a close-range finish from Ona Batlle’s cross but Chelsea hit back within four minutes, Catarina Macario sweeping the ball out to Sandy Baltimore who drilled a shot back inside the far post.
From a Pina corner Irene Paredes headed firmly home, then returning the compliment as Pina netted her second and Barca’s fourth with a back heel.
