Northern Ireland Women lost 2-1 in Türkiye, meaning they will finish third in the World Cup qualifying League B Group 2.

Melike Pekel curled a shot from the edge of the box into Jackie Burns’ top corner, but Ireland drew level with a penalty just before the break.

Busem Seker handled the ball on the line and escaped with just a caution, while Megan Bell converted from the spot.

Three minutes after the interval, the hosts regained the lead when Burns’ attempted clearance was charged down by Selen Altunkulak, who then set up Seker to head home.
