The SWPL 2 Play-Off Final will be contested by the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League 2 ninth-placed side, East Fife, and the runners-up of the Scottish Women’s Championship, Falkirk. Falkirk confirmed their second-place finish with a 6-1 win over Ayr United on the penultimate weekend of the Championship season, with Renfrew already sealing the Scottish Women’s Championship title and gaining promotion to the SWPL 2 for the first time in their history, earlier in May.

Fiona McIntyre, SWPL Managing Director, said: “We look forward to the Play-Offs getting underway this week and are sure the new format will bring more unmissable moments as we bring this exciting season to a close.
“We are delighted to be returning to The Albert Bartlett Stadium for both Play-Off Final matches. It is a fitting venue for fixtures of this importance, and I would like to extend our thanks to Airdrieonians FC for their support as hosts.”

Aileen Campbell, Chief Executive of Scottish Women’s Football, said: “The strong collaboration between SWF and SWPL to support an ever-maturing pyramid within the women’s game is important to enable Championship teams to advance their ambitions.
“The play-offs represent an exciting culmination to a competitive Barclays Scottish Women’s Championship season and illustrates not only the growth but also the depth of talent within our sport.
“We look forward to what we know will be a great event in Airdrie and hope lots of fans come along to support their teams.”
