Wrexham lost out to Riga in their UEFA Women’s Champions League 1st Qualifying Round Final, Glentoran won their third-place match against Pyunik.
Wrexham were ahead in just the eighth minute at the Stok Cae Ras, as Lili Jones lofted the ball home after an attempted clearance dropped her way.
But the Latvian champions Riga had turned the game around less than 10 minutes into the second half, as Shiori Kato’s cross was firmly headed in by Minami Oi and then Kumba Brima was left to slot home.
Wakana Mitani set up Laura Kallase to score, and it was all over for the hosts as Kato made it 4-1.
In the earlier match, Susanna Badalyan fired Armenian side Pyunik Yerevan ahead with a finish from the corner of the box. Glentoran grabbed a deserved equaliser with the last kick of the first half, as Nadene Caldwell found the top corner from outside the area.
Gracie Conway put the Glens in control with a 10-minute brace from close range. Caldwell had a goal disallowed, but moments later Aimee Kerr made it 4-1.
Karine Yeghyan added a late goal for Pyunik, who earlier had one ruled out.
Athlone Town fell 3-1 to Polish side Czarni Sosnowiec, netting a late consolation goal.
KÍ Klaksvík came from behind at the break to beat Zimbru Chişinău 4-1, featuring a 23-minute hat-trick by Durita Hummeland.
