AFC Bournemouth’s loss at Lewes has left Plymouth Argyle Women out of their reach in the FA WNL Southern Premier Division runner-up spot.

Plymouth Argyle are confirmed as Southern Premier Division runners-up as AFC Bournemouth can no longer catch them following their defeat to Lewes, for whom Leah Lane and Chelsea Ferguson scored.

Argyle will face Northern Premier runners-up – Burnley or Wolves – in the promotion play-off on Monday, 4 May at Burton Albion FC.

Oxford United’s Holly Manders twice equalised for a 2-2 draw with Real Bedford, her second goal coming in the last minute.

Rhema Lord-Mears struck twice from outside the box to help Huddersfield Town beat Division One North title rivals Cheadle, whom they replace at the top of the table. The result means Leeds United can now do no better than second spot.

Jenny Ashton scored the only goal to give Chester-le-Street a win at Doncaster and secure their safety. The Belles must win their final match to have a chance of escaping the bottom two at the expense of York City, who went down 7-0 at Wythenshawe.

Division One Midlands champions Peterborough United were 2-0 winners at fifth-placed Sheffield FC.

The FA WNL Reserve Cup Final was eventually won by AFC Bournemouth Development after the lead changed hands several times, with Mia Hammick scoring the decider in a thrilling seven-goal thriller against Hull City Reserves.

Lily Readman fired Middlesbrough to victory against QPR in the FA WNL Reserve Plate Final.
