Newcastle United Women secured their fourth win in four Barclays WSL2 games, with rivals Sunderland remaining just two points behind them.

Newcastle recorded a fourth straight win to stay at the top of Barclays WSL2, scoring four goals against Leicester City.
Charlotte Wardlaw put away a ball from Kathleen McGovern for Newcastle a dozen minutes in.
The points were effectively secured by a quick Martha Thomas brace, heading in from Jordan Nobbs’ cross and from a Beth Lumsden assist.
Aoife Mannion wrapped up the scoring in added time following a corner.
Sunderland took the points 2-1 at Watford to hold second spot in the table.
Sunderland struck first with a Sanni Franssi finish from Tess Laplacette’s cross, and they were two up inside half an hour after Elise Hughes scored from a delivery by Jessica Brown.
Vera Jones buried a free kick to give Watford hope going into the final quarter of an hour.
Ipswich Town’s 3-1 victory over Wolves lifted them above their visitors and into third position.
Amber Hughes put Wolves ahead with an Anna Morphet assist, but Princess Ademiluyi brought Ipswich level 10 minutes later, and just before half-time, Wanderers keeper Emily Orman conceded an own goal.
Maria Boswell scored a third for Ipswich from outside the area to make sure of the win.
Southampton and Nottingham Forest shared the points to both stay unbeaten, but with three of their four matches ending in draws.
Freya Jupp gave the Saints the advantage after the hour mark with a goal from a corner.
Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah struck from outside the box to get Forest level with eight minutes to go.
Sheffield United got their first points on the board at the expense of Durham with a 4-1 result.
Amy Andrews headed home a Lucy Quinn corner for the Blades, but before the break Bayley Hutchison levelled from outside the box.
Sheffield hit a quick double early in the second half through Lucy Quinn and an Andrews’ penalty after Grace Ayre took down Tilly Bristow.
Andrews later completed her hat-trick as her side climbed to ninth place.
