Man Utd Women came away from Atletico Madrid with a win in the UWCL Knockout Round Play-off 1st Leg.

It took United just three minutes to score as Melvine Malard picked up Vilde Boe Risa’s attempted clearance and found Elisabeth Terland, who fired her shot into the top corner.

The advantage was doubled approaching half-time, with Hinata Miyazawa sending Malard away to curl the ball home.

Atlético were fighting to get back into the game, but in the final 10 minutes of regular time, Malard was involved again and set up Julia Zigiotti Olme to make it 3-0.

The second leg is on Thursday 19 February, with Bayern Munich awaiting the aggregate winners in the quarter-finals.
