London City Lionesses have signed Spanish U-20 international midfielder Paula Partido from Real Madrid on a three-year contract.

She was in the Spain squad that won the 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, played Champions League football for Real Madrid, was on loan at Celtic in their SWPL1 title-winning season and also had a spell at Sevilla.

Paula Partido told londoncitylionesses.com: “When this opportunity came, I thought it’s a big club and is a great future project. I had no doubts about it.”

Director of Recruitment Ronald Thompson added: “Paula is a player that our wider scouting network identified early on. She is a direct frontline player who brings real physicality to the game.

Technically she is very good and able to manipulate the ball whilst moving at pace. We see Paula as a talent for the future but able to make an impact now.”
