Guilsfield Cause Shock in the Bute Energy Welsh Cup

Guilsfield beat second-tier opposition on their debut in the Bute Energy Welsh Cup First Qualifying Round.

Central Wales League newcomers Guilsfield pulled off an 8-5 victory at Adran North team Felinheli, despite nearly letting a four-goal advantage slip and their hosts missing a penalty that would have made it 5-5. Ella Breese made a major contribution to the win with four goals and three assists.

Bangor City took the lead through Menna Evans, but Milly Lowe scored against her former club to push the match to penalties, where Cerys MacDonald eventually netted the decisive shot for City.

Summer Jones’ shoot-out penalty sent NFA through after a 3-3 deadlock at Denbigh Town, as did a Emily Cruwys spot-kick for Llantwit Fardre against Porth Harlequins.
