Chester Women Climb to the Top With Fifth Straight Win

Chester Women lead the North West Regional League Division 1 South following a fifth straight win.

EASTERN – Hertford Town Hit Top Spot

1 North – Luton Town Development extended their lead at the top with a 4-3 victory over Real Bedford Development, where Carla Todd scored twice and the win came despite a red card for substitute Georgia Wood. Costessey Sports also won 4-3 on the road, with Hannah Campbell contributing a brace at Cambridge City as her side moved up to second place.

1 South – Hertford Town thrashed Toby FC 6-0, aided by an Olivia Thornton hat-trick, moving them to top of the table. AFC Sudbury Reserves sit second after cruising past AFC Welwyn 7-1, while Leyton Orient are third following a 2-0 win over Southend United, with goals from Samantha Read and Tiffany Balfour delighting the 200-strong crowd.

EAST MIDLANDS – Faulding Brace Pushes Belper Into First

1 Central – University of Nottingham made it two wins from two with a 4-0 result over Coalville Town, in which Lucy Tyldesley bagged a brace. Pride Park beat Melbourne Dynamo 4-2, helped by two goals from Natasha Collyer, as they climbed to scond.

1 North – Alice Faulding scored both goals for Belper Town in their 2-1 success over Notts County Development, moving them into pole position.

1 South – Leicester City LFC went clear at the top after netting eight times at Spalding United. Northampton Town Development’s Lacey Shilcock scored a treble as they started with a 6-0 win at Higham Town.

LONDON & SOUTH EAST – Ashmount Leigh Grab the Leadership

1 North – Dulwich Hamlet Reserves moved further ahead at the summit with a 4-0 win against Carshalton Athletic. Actonians Reserves beat AFC Greenwich Borough 3-1 to climb to fifth, while Hackney overcame Sport London E Benfica 6-1..

1 South – Ashmount Leigh scored the only goal at Steyning Town to take over at the top, with Saltdean United Development just behind on goal difference after defeating Dorking Wanderers B Team 3-2. Sevenoaks Town got their first points with a 4-1 victory at Hastings United. Dorking Wanderers B Team play again on Wednesday, 23 September at Ashford United.

NORTH EAST – Trio Complete Three Straight Wins

1 North – Park View made it three wins from three with a 5-0 triumph over North Shields Athletic, while Norton & Stockton Ancients Reserves matched that record after a 3-1 win against Washington, whose Darcey Dixon was sent off just after the hour mark. Gateshead Rutherford put six past Sunderland West End, and Gateshead Leam Rangers stormed to an 8-0 victory at Hartlepool United.

1 South – Thackley scored three times without reply at Knaresborough Town to take maximum points from their first three games. Ilkley Town picked up a 4-1 victory on their travels at Bottesford Town.

NORTH WEST – Purdy Puts Away Four of Haslingden’s Five

1 Central – Wythenshawe Town climbed two places to second after putting seven goals past Stockport County Ladies, who had Tamsin Emery dismissed after 70 minutes.

1 North – Haslingden claimed their first win on the fifth attempt with a 5-2 victory at Blackburn CSC, featuring a four-goal haul from Madison Purdy. Blackpool edged the derby clash at Fleetwood Town Wrens 3-2, helped by a double from Jess Lord.

1 South – Chester took over the leadership with a 7-3 score at Mossley Hill Athletic, their fifth win in five. Runcorn Linnets scored five unanswered goals against Tranmere Rovers Development.

SOUTHERN – Coster Double Decisive for Chesham

1 North – Top side Finchampstead were held 2-2 at home by Slough Town, while Abingdon United Development also finished two apiece with Barton United. Chesham United Development edged Oxford City Development 3-2, with Nell Coster’s double in the last 20 minutes proving crucial. Farnborough shared six goals with visitors Kidlington.

1 South – Isobel Pouncy’s brace helped Bursledon get their first point on the board with a 3-3 draw at Whitchurch United. Guernsey also got going with a 1-1 tie at Bournemouth Sports Reserves.

SOUTH WEST – Weston-super-Mare Secure Three Consecutive Wins

Premier – B2A Women kicked off with a 1-1 draw at Sherborne Town, for whom it was a second point in three matches.

1 Central – Weston-super-Mare’s 2-0 victory over Stockwood Wanderers put them at the top of the pile, with all three of their games won. Paulton Rovers beat Brislington 2-1 with substitute Erin Cordier on target, while Whitchurch’s Hannah Gillett equalised twice for a 2-2 draw with Keynsham Town, the second time on 90 minutes.

1 North – Cirencester Town substitute Annie Martin scored twice in a 3-2 win against Abbey Meads, putting them in first place. Gloucester City Reserves handed out a 3-0 defeat to Downend Flyers, who had Mollie Bourne red-carded before the break.

1 South – Plymouth Marjon’s Crystal-Mae Pollock grabbed both goals of the game away at Bishops Lydeard.

WEST MIDLANDS – Walsall Host Newcastle Town at the Bescot

1 North – Walsall will host Newcastle Town at Bescot Stadium on Friday, 25 September, with kick-off at 7:45 pm.

1 South – Bromsgrove Sporting picked up their first win in four attempts, defeating Dudley Town 3-0.
