Grant Scott joins Celtic FC Women from Hibernian as Head Coach, with Elena Sadiku leaving the Hoops.
Scott guided Hibs to the SWPL title last season, but the team is currently a bit adrift of the league leaders and sits just behind Celtic, who beat them 2-1 at home yesterday.
Grant Scott told celticfc.com: “It is a huge honour to join Celtic and I look forward to carrying on the great work at the club, to push on and bring even more success to Celtic.
“I’m excited to join at a time when the new Barrowfield Training Centre is giving our women’s team every opportunity to develop, providing the players and those coming through the Academy with the best possible environment to train and come to work each day.”
Celtic Chief Executive Michael Nicholson said: “Everyone at Celtic would like to thank Elena [Sadiku] for her historic contribution during a hugely successful period as Head Coach of our women’s team, creating history by winning the club’s first-ever Scottish Women’s Premier League title and reaching the UEFA Women’s Champions League group stage for the first time.
“Grant brings a strong track record in Scottish women’s football, with proven experience of leading competitive teams and delivering success, most recently guiding Hibernian to their first league title in 18 years last season.“
“We believe he is the right person to lead an important next phase of women’s football at Celtic, building on our investment in the new Barrowfield Training Centre to develop high-quality young Scottish players through to the first team. We look forward to welcoming Grant to the club.”
