Birmingham City Women have agreed a deal to sign Japan international defender Asato Miyagawa from Hammarby IF on 1 January 2026.
She began her career with Tokyo Verdy Beleza, making over 90 appearances and lifting domestic silverware before moving to Sweden in 2024.
The 27-year-old has been capped 23 times by Japan at senior level, featuring the World Cup and Olympics.
Her experience also includes winning both the U17 and U20 World Cups, as well as playing in the Champions League.
Miyagawa told bcfc.com: “I am very happy to be able to join this historic team.
“I believe that winning the championship is definitely ahead, so first I want to focus on the upcoming matches and keep winning.”
