England Women’s Under-19s progressed through the UEFA WU19 EURO first qualifying round following a 6-0 win over Bosnia & Herzegovina.
John Salomon’s team had lost to Denmark but then drawn with Switzerland, which meant victory over the group hosts put the Young Lionesses through to the second qualifying round next spring.
With less than two minutes played, Leona Ackar received a red card for pulling Katie Scott’s hair, and it was Scott who soon set up the opportunity for Ria Oukriss to score off the post.
Although there was just one goal at half time, less than five minutes after the restart, Jess Anderson crossed for Lois Shooter to score.
Niamh Peacock headed home from Scott’s corner, Sarria Rae picked out Anderson for the fourth, and Fryea Hirons completed the quick treble from Elise Christian’s delivery.
Shooter doubled her tally to round off the scoring with this opportunity set up by Damilola Atinaro.
