Cheltenham Town 5-1 Swindon Town (Att: 171)

Cheltenham Town moved four points clear of next-to-bottom Swindon Town, aided by a Leonie Joyce hat-trick.

Annie Colston halved the deficit, but Chloe Snook restored the two-goal cushion.

After Joyce scored her third, there was a late red card for Swindon’s Sahara Osborne-Ricketts and a goal direct from a free kick by Lilly Wellesley-Davies.

Chorley got off the mark at the eighth attempt with a draw against Fylde, who moved level on points with second-placed Halifax. Olivia Ellinson equalised for the hosts with 12 minutes to play, after Demi Devereaux had scored for Fylde in the first half.

Norton saw off Thornaby after taking the lead for a third time, to leapfrog them in the table and climb to fifth. Ella Baker twice replied to goals by Sacha Millward and Louise Atkinson, before Millward’s second proved decisive.

Durham Cestria had Becca Bell sent off for denying a goal-scoring opportunity late on at Chester Le Street, but still came close to winning it when Lleucu Mathias hit the post.

Barnsley Women moved up to second place and within a point of leaders Leafield Athletic after twice coming from behind to win at Wythenshawe. Goals from Olivia Dixon and Rachael Dunlop were answered by Aaliyah Nolan and Amber Sewell, before Milly Wortley scored the winner.

Chesterfield hit basement side Sheffield FC for six to secure a third straight win, featuring doubles from Ruby Shore and Evie Carter.

Division 1 South East

Megan Arnott’s double, which included a penalty, saw Wycombe Wanderers defeat Abingdon United and move level on points with second-placed Moneyfields.

Gwalia United twice led Bristol Rovers with goals from Esme Kilburn-Thompson, but Anais Trinci pulled one back from a free kick and Ruby Scahill netted a dramatic stoppage-time equaliser against her former side.
