China eventually defeated Chinese Taipei 2-0 after being taken to extra time in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup quarter-finals, while South Korea cruised past Uzbekistan.
Wang Shuang set up Shao Ziqin to break the deadlock just four minutes into the added half-hour.
Wurigumula missed a chance from the spot to double the lead, with her weak penalty easily saved by Cheng Ssu-yu.
With only a couple of minutes left, a Chen Ying-hui own goal from Jin Kun’s cross ensured that China progressed to a semi-final with tournament hosts Australia.
South Korea hit Uzbekistan for six to line up a semi-final with Japan or the Philippines.
Son Hwa-yeon was a late change for South Korea and had them ahead inside 10 minutes, with her deflected shot looping up off Dilrabo Asadova and over Uzbekistan goalkeeper Maftuna Jonimqulova.
Yoo-Jin Ko doubled the lead from outside the box, and Soo-Jeong Park powered home the third after the interval.
Ji So-yun got on the scoresheet with a clinical finish, Lee Eun-young added a tap-in and Jang Sel-Gi converted a stoppage-time penalty for 6-0.
