Barclays WSL 2 leaders Charlton Athletic Women just preserved their unbeaten record against Ipswich Town.

Paige Peake put Ipswich in front from a penalty, after Lucy O’Brien was fouled in the area by Elisha N’Dow.

Lucy Fitzgerald almost levelled for Charlton in first-half stoppage time but her header hit the crossbar.

Princess Ademiluyi put her header wide with the Addicks goal unguarded, but goalkeeper Sophie Whitehouse was there to tip over a Sophie Peskett strike.

Charlton equalised with seven minutes of the 90 left, as Gillian Kenney powered a header home from Charlotte Newsham’s cross.

While the Addicks go nine points clear of Birmingham City from a game more, Ipswich move a point above bottom side Portsmouth.
