Burnley Women and Plymouth Progress to League Cup Semi Finals

Burnley Women and Plymouth Argyle reached the FA WNL Cup Semi-Finals with 3-0 victories, Gwalia United and Moneyfields have made it through to the last four of the Plate.

Phoebie Poole’s double and a goal from Tianna Teisar saw Plymouth progress at Lewes, Burnley beat Middlesbrough as Charley Docherty’s early effort was added to by Charlie Chadwick’s brace.

Moneyfields thrashed London City 6-1 after being pegged back in the Plate tie, with Megan Fox scoring twice and one each from Gemma Simmonds, Amber Howden, Shanno Albuery, and Ali Hall.

Georgia Walters and Tia Asker got the goals as Gwalia United saw off Brighton U-21s.

The FA WNL Cup and Plate semi-final draws will be revealed on the FA WNL YouTube at 7:15pm on Monday.

In one of the few league games to beat the weather, Oxford United pulled off a comeback from two goals down to win 3-2 at AFC Wimbledon. Nicole Barrett scored twice to bring them back on level terms, with Maisy Barker netting the 80th-minute winner to lift Oxford up two places to fifth in the Southern Premier.

Mid-table Worcester City had to come from behind to take the points at next-to-bottom Northampton Town in Division One Midlands, with Maia Clark completing her double deep into stoppage time.

Norwich City’s 3-0 win at Actonians brought them within a point of Division One South East leaders Fulham. Issy Moore netted the first two goals, Evie Williams completed the scoring. London Bees had seven different scorers in a 7-1 thrashing of Chesham United.

Bridgwater United beat Worthing 3-0 to go fourth in Division One South West on goal difference. Jemima Guise got the second-half breakthrough, Megan Jarvis, adding a brace on her debut.
