Arsenal Women’s Mariona Caldentey is out with a hamstring injury as the Barclays WSL resumes after the October international break.

Selina Cerci and Chloe Kelly will also be absent for the Gunners, who head into Saturday lunchtime’s match against Birmingham City without a league victory since the opening weekend, sitting in tenth place, although their opponents are winless and second-to-last.

Arsenal head coach Renée Slegers told arsenal.com: “Mariona went off against [Manchester] City, didn’t go away with Spain, hamstring injury, so she will be out for a while”.

About opponents Birmingham, she added: “They’re a hard-working team. They have some individual qualities, both centrally and on the wings, that we really have to minimise and stop.”

Sunday brings two London derbies at noon, with second-placed Chelsea taking on fourth-placed Tottenham and Crystal Palace facing West Ham, both struggling to find a second win of the campaign.

Top team Manchester City play Brighton, and it’s third versus fifth as London City host Everton.

Charlton are still yet to get off the mark and entertain Manchester United, while Aston Villa go into the game with Liverpool having three draws from five matches.

The Subway Players Cup Group Stage continues with Watford and Leicester City kicking things off on Saturday afternoon, while the highlight of Sunday’s ties is the Tyne-Wear derby as Newcastle take on Sunderland.
