Arsenal Women came from behind to defeat Spurs 2-1 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Tottenham’s Cathinka Tandberg powered home a header from Victoria Pelova’s 13th-minute corner.
Arsenal were swiftly level as Alessia Russo’s ball to Georgia Stanway was rifled into the net off the crossbar despite the efforts of goalkeeper Lize Kopp.
Spurs lost Alice Sombath when she was stretchered off just a couple of minutes into the second half.
Kop denied Russo with a sharp one-handed save around the post, following the corner Lisa Baum hit the post but a penalty was awarded for handball against Ella Morris and Russo converted the spot kick.
Arsenal’s goalkeeper Misa Rodriguez saved well from Shekeira Martinez, but the offside flag was raised anyway.
The result lifted Arsenal two places to sixth in the Barclays WSL table on goal difference and within a point of fourth-placed Spurs.
