NWSL side Bay FC have signed defender Anouk Denton from West Ham Women for an undisclosed fee.
Denton joined the Hammers on loan from Arsenal, later signing a permanent deal and making a total of 67 appearances while scoring five goals.
She had represented England up to the U-23 level before earning her first senior call-up last October, making her debut in December.
In so doing, she became the first West Ham player to represent the Lionesses since February 1996.
Denton told bayfc.com: “Bay FC is an ambitious club with a clear vision, and it felt like the right place for the next step in my career.
“Having worked with Emma [Coates] before gives me confidence in the environment I’m stepping into, and I’m really looking forward to living in the Bay Area and playing in front of such passionate supporters.”
Head coach Emma Coates spoke about her new signing: “She’s someone I have worked with before, so I know exactly what she brings. Anouk is the type of person and player we want at this club. She is professional, hardworking, and driven. She brings valuable experience at the top level from her time in the WSL, and what’s exciting is that there’s still room for her to grow.”
