Thursday’s fixtures in the FA WNL saw Actonians beat London Bees and Barnsley Women win at Sheffield FC.
Actonians moved into the top half of Division One South East with a 2-1 defeat of third-placed London Bees.
Georgia Griffin needed just 11 minutes of her debut to fire a rocket into the top corner and give Actonians the lead.
A corner for the Bees from Hayley Hoare was knocked on by Renai Bennett and headed home by Sandra Martins for a 25th-minute equaliser.
The hosts’ Haley West hit the crossbar and Tia Ginn pulled off a triple save for the Bees. But with time running out, Actonians were awarded a penalty for handball, and Kayra Karakus converted.
Barnsley Women kept up hopes of finishing higher than fourth in Division One Midlands with a 2-0 victory over mid-table Sheffield FC.
Jemima Jarvis buried an early penalty and Charlotte Stuart crossed for Maddi Green to control and finish, giving them a 2-0 lead at halftime.
Sheffield FC substitute Imogen Fowler hit the post after the break, but her side was unable to get a goal back.
