Germany and Spain played out an exciting goalless draw in the UEFA Women’s Nations League Final First Leg.

France 2-1 Sweden

Germany 0-0 Spain

Germany dominated the first half in Kaiserslautern, but Franziska Kett saw her shot saved by the leg of Cata Coll, and Jule Brand’s effort was cleared off the line by Alexia Putellas.

Coll also pulled off an extraordinary double save, just a split second apart, either side of Rebecca Knaak’s header.

Spain came into the match right after the restart and hit the post through Esther González, Klara Bühl was later similarly denied for Germany with a shot from outside the box.

Brand clipped the bar with a cross, Sjoeke Nusken could have won it in added time, but Coll rushed out to clear.

In the third-place match. Sakina Karchaoui made the breakthrough for France with a penalty against Sweden in first-half added time.

Stina Blackstenius equalised midway through the second half aided by Anna Sandberg, only for Griedge Mbock to restore the lead at the death.

The second legs are both on Tuesday 2 December.
