Arsenal Women are off the mark in the UEFA Women’s Champions League with a 2-0 win away to Benfica.

Bayern Munich 2-1 Juventus
Benfica 0-2 Arsenal
Paris Saint-Germain 1-2 Real Madrid

Arsenal’s best chance of the first half saw Lotte Wubben-Moy head just wide of the post, while a Diana Gomes header was pushed out for a corner by Daphne van Domselaar.

The Gunners broke the deadlock before the hour mark, Mariona Caldentey’s cross was not dealt with and Beth Mead swept the ball hom while lying on the turf.

The victory was secured in the 89th minute, as Chloe Kelly slipped a free kick into the box and Alessia Russo finished it off.

Pernille Harder put Bayern Munich ahead but Eva Schatzer soon equalised for Juventus from a free kick. Georgia Stanway set up Lea Schüller to score a stoppage-time Bayern winner, which survived a VAR check.

Real Madrid led PSG 2-0 at half-time, Naomie Feller and Alba Redondo with the goals. Rasheedat Ajibade replied but an equaliser was not forthcoming.
