Sunderland have signed Jamaican international winger Reanna Blades from Burnley on a one-year deal, with the option of a further year.

She signed her first professional contract with Chelsea in October 2023 and went out on loan to Lewes.

Last summer she signed for FA WNL Northern Premier Division side Burnley, helping them to a fourth-place finish.

Blades told safc.com: “I am honoured to be part of this club. I’m looking forward to getting started and for a new journey to begin.”

Head coach Mel Reay added: “We are delighted to bring Reanna to Wearside. Her profile suits our style of play – she is a direct and skilful winger, who will be a threat on either flank. Although she has already proved herself in WSL 2, we believe Reanna has greater potential that we are perfectly suited to unlocking, so we can’t wait for her to join up with our squad ahead of the 2025-26 season.”
