Barclays NIWFA Leagues have seen a flurry of champions confirmed, with celebrations for Lisbellaw United, Valley Rangers, Portadown, Donegal Celtic, Newhill, Ballymacash Rangers, and Carniny.

The Barclays NIWFA Championship title looks to be heading the way of Sion Swifts, with a return to the NIFL Women’s Premiership the prize. Top spot will be secured ahead of Bangor if they avoid defeat at home to bottom side Craigavon City at Brandywell Stadium this evening, Wednesday 19 August.

Lisbellaw United are the Division One champions after coming from behind to beat their closest rivals, Comber Rec, 3-1. Jess Rainey gave Comber an early lead, but two goals from Anna Magolan and one from Louise Devlin secured the victory. Despite the defeat, Comber are likely to be promoted as runners-up.

Division Two pacesetters Ballynahinch Olympic slipped up with a 2-1 home loss to already relegated Antrim Town. Coleraine are hoping for another stumble to give them the chance of snatching top spot.

Valley Rangers brushed aside the challenge of Comber Rec Reserves to secure the Division Three title, making it 13 wins from 14 games played and 128 goals scored along the way. Belfast Ravens’ 7-1 win versus St Mary’s means thy will join Valley in Division Two next season.

Portadown beat their closest rivals, Wellington Rec, 1-0 to clinch the Division Four title. The winning goal came from a penalty awarded for a handball in the box. The consolation for Wellington is that they also earned promotion to Division Three for next season.

Division Five champions Donegal Celtic received their winners’ trophy, though the celebration was slightly dampened by a 2-1 defeat to Rathriland.

Victory for Ballymacash Rangers, along with a loss for Berlin Swiftettes, means the ‘Cash are champions in Pathway East, while Pathway West was won by Carniny on their first attempt.
