The Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Finals is through its first round of group games, with Ghana and Cameroon each securing a victory.

Ghana’s Black Queens won 2-0 over Cape Verde in Group D, with Doris Boaduwaa’s sixth-minute goal followed by an early second-half own goal from Eleia Vieira.

Also in Casablanca, Cameroon edged Mali 2-1 with the decider coming in the later stages.

Marie Ngah Manga put the Indomitable Lionesses ahead, but Aïssata Traoré equalised from the penalty spot.

Manga would also convert a spot-kick to clinch the three points in the 73rd minute.

Fixtures for Thursday, 30 July are back in Group A, where Senegal face Kenya before Morocco and Algeria clash as both teams aim for back-to-back wins.
