London City Lionesses have signed versatile Danish international Janni Thomsen on a two-year deal from NWSL side Utah Royals.
Thomsen has represented her country at the last World Cup and also the two most recent Women’s Euros.
Making 37 appearances for Utah Royals, she had earlier helped Aarhus secure third place in the Danish League and went on to win three Toppserien titles and three Norwegian Cup trophies with Vålerenga, with whom she gained Champions League experience.
Thomsen told londoncitylionesses.com: “I have always wanted to play in the Women’s Super League. For me this is the best league in the world. I’m excited to learn and experience this type of football.
“Last year, I moved to the USA which has been a great experience, now I feel ready for this adventure here in England which I’m really looking forward to.”
