Sheffield United Women Swoop for Chloe Warrington as their First New Summer Addition

Sheffield United Women have swooped to add a versatile full-back with top-level experience as Chloe Warrington becomes the club’s first summer addition.

Joining from Glasgow City on a two-year deal with the option for an additional year, the former Scotland Under-23 international has won both the SWPL title and the Sky Sports Cup, while also featuring in the UEFA Women’s Champions League and, more recently, the new UEFA Women’s Europa Cup.

The defender scored a stunning winner in the Sky Sports Cup semi-final against Hibernian on the way to last season’s domestic cup final. Warrington also arrives at the club with international pedigree having represented Scotland up to Under 23s level, also graduating the Celtic academy and representing the Edinburgh side at first team level before moving to Glasgow City in 2022.

Warrington said: “I’m delighted to be here. Being around the stadium for the first time has been really exciting, and I just can’t wait to get started.

“I just wanted a change. When I spoke to the guys here, what they had and what they are trying to achieve is really exciting and fitted me well, so I thought this would be the best place to come.”

Head coach Stephen Healy added: “Chloe was a key target in a key position for us, so we’re delighted to get the deal over the line.

“She brings a real pedigree after success in Scotland, as well as experience in Europe’s top competitions, and at 24 comes at a great stage in her career where we will get to work with her during her peak years.
