Newcastle United Women have signed Welsh international defender Gemma Evans, who spent the past two seasons with Liverpool.
She made 39 appearances for the Reds after winning the FA Cup with Manchester United and had previous top-flight spells with Reading, Bristol City, and Yeovil Town.
For Wales, she has 85 caps to date and was also part of their first-ever major tournament squad at Euro 2025.
Evans told newcastleunited.com: “I’m happy this move is finally over the line. I’m over the moon, I’m looking forward to meeting the girls, meeting the fans and showing them what I can do.
“I think it’s a really exciting project to be part of and I can’t wait to get going.”
Manager Tanya Oxtoby said: “Gemma joins us with great experience both at club level and internationally with Wales. She is someone that I have worked with previously, so I know what she offers us on the pitch with her fight and determination, as well as her defensive attributes.
“She understands what it takes to play in the WSL, and that is where we want to be. I am looking forward to working with Gemma again.”
