Spurs Women are to sign Norway international goalkeeper Selma Panengstuen from SK Brann.
She made her senior international debut in June 2025 against Sweden, and in the same year started all 27 league games for champions Brann, keeping 18 clean sheets.
This season, she has kept eight clean sheets in 11 league games and made her debut in the UEFA Women’s Champions League, where she helped secure a 1-0 home win against Manchester United.
Panengstuen made her Toppserien debut at the age of 18, before a stint with title-winning Kolbotn saw her claim the First Division Player of the Year award in 2023. She was named in broadcaster TV 2’s Toppserien Team of the Year the following season.
Head Coach Martin Ho told tottenhamhotspur.com: “Selma is a goalkeeper with outstanding potential, but also someone who already has a very strong foundation to her game. She has real presence, bravery and personality, and she is comfortable playing with the ball, taking responsibility and being part of how a team wants to build and control games. As a goalkeeper, she has the qualities we value highly, shot-stopping ability, courage, communication, athleticism and the mentality to keep improving every single day.
“We believe Selma has a very high ceiling, and our role is to give her the support, challenge and environment to keep developing all parts of her game. Having worked with her before, I know exactly the character, humility and drive she will bring to Tottenham. She is a top talent, but more importantly she has the mindset to maximise that talent, and we are delighted she has chosen this club for the next step in her career.”
Panengstuen said: “This is a very exciting club and a project that is going upwards. I want to be a part of it because I really believe in it. Obviously I have some friends here, and they have said some great things about Spurs.
“I’m looking forward to playing games, meeting the fans, coming in every day to train, and live my dream.”
