England Women Under U 17s Miss Out on World Cup

The England Women Under-17 team fell short of qualifying for the FIFA WU17 World Cup, losing 2-0 to Poland in the WU17 EURO fifth-place playoff match.

Zofia Burzan broke the approaching the interval, winning back possession and calmly slotting the ball home.

Ten minutes into the second half, Burzan scored again, sprinting into the box and calmly choosing her spot.

With three minutes of added time left, Lucy Robinson met a corner kick, but her header came back off the post.

France advanced to the final after a 3-1 penalty shoot-out win over Norway, after the teams finished at 1-1 in 90 minutes.

Germany also won on penalties against Spain 4-3 after a goalless deadlock.

The final is a at Belfast’s Windsor Park at 6pm on Sunday, 17 May, live on UEFA.tv.
