With Canada earlier edging Argentina 3-2 on penalties after a goalless deadlock, the USA knew the title was already theirs.
But it took until the 82nd minute to open the scoring against Colombia.
Alyssa Thompson exchanged passes with Jaedyn Shaw before netting via the underside of the crossbar from the edge of the box.
