Wrexham Women Top After The New Saints Hold Cardiff City

Wrexham Women defeated Swansea City 4-2 to move to the top of the Genero Adran Leagues, while The New Saints drew 3-3 at Cardiff City.

Wrexham twice came from behind to beat third-placed Swansea and move top by two points. Swansea’s goals from Aimee Deacon and Chloe Chivers were cancelled out by two Katie Barker penalties, before Lili Mai Jones put Wrexham ahead in the 83rd minute and Rosie Hughes sealed the win deep into added time.

Fourth-placed TNS looked set to win away to Cardiff but were stunned by two late goals. Lexie Harrison opened the scoring for the Saints, Fiona Barry equalised before Caitlin Chapman and Zara Gibbs put the visitors 3-1 ahead. Substitute Lily Billingham gave City hope and in the 14th minute of stoppage time, Laura Curnock dramatically levelled the match.

Briton Ferry defeated 10-player Barry, who saw Amelia Herbert sent off before the break, followed by manager James Fishlock at the end. Brooke Llewellyn opened the scoring, with Lucy Powell and a stoppage-time strike from Jade Crofts securing the points.

Aberystwyth handed Pontypridd a tenth straight defeat after they initially led through Madison Lloyd. Libby Isaac’s penalty brought Aber level and Rebecca Mathias denied Ponty a first point with an 83rd-minute winner.

Llanfair thrashed Bangor to jump up three places to third spot.Tania Wylde scored twice, as did Harriet Davies, including a penalty. Mary Bailey, Emma Williams, Sophie Cook and Millie Evans added one apiece.

Taffs Well 0-2 Pure Swansea

Cardiff Met stayed top on goal difference with a win at Carmarthen, thanks to goals from Summer Kilby and Esme Kilburn-Thompson. Pure Swansea kept the pressure on with a 2-0 victory at Taffs Well, courtesy of Katie Cooper and Annabel Stokes. Penybont edged past Llanelli with a 70th-minute Maddy Priday penalty, moving level on points with fourth-placed Cwmbran Celtic.

Casey Daniels, Laura Boyd and substitute Gracie Grosvenor each scored four times as second-tier Cwmbran Celtic overran Wattsville of the South Wales League Division 2, to book a trip to Llantwit Fardre.
