Wolves Women sign Jas Matthews on a two-year deal from Burnley, ahead of their debut campaign in Barclays WSL 2.
An England international up to under-23 level, the defender played in the UEFA Women’s Champions League with both Bristol City and Liverpool, and has made over 150 appearances in the Women’s Super League.
Head coach Dan McNamara told wolves co.uk: “After the very first game we played against Burnley last season, it was evident to us how much quality Jas possesses and she is someone we earmarked if we were to make the step up.
“She has had an amazing career and we are delighted to bring her here. We know she still has a lot to give and will bring us that experience of knowing what the demands are of professional football. We want to add players that will enhance our environment, not just with their standards, but with their abilities as well.
“Jas has got all the ingredients to be a real good leader in what will be a really exciting first season in WSL 2. It is so exciting for us as staff to be talking about a player of this calibre joining Wolves. To have her come back into WSL, this time with Wolves, is huge and she has really bought into the project.”
