West Ham United sign England U-23 international midfielder Sarah Brasero from Portuguese side GD Estoril Praia on a three-year contract.
She made 23 appearances in Portugal’s top tier last term, having earlier played at Lewes in the Barclays Women’s Championship and at Ipswich Town prior to that.
Brasero told whufc.com: “I’ve had some great conversations with Rehanne [Skinner] already. She’s a manager that likes to develop young players, and as a young player with a lot of ambition, that’s exactly what I’m looking for at this stage in my career. I also spoke with Anouk [Denton] during our last England U-23 camp and she had nothing but good things to say about the Club.
“Even though I’m still young, I’ve got plenty of experience from my time with Lewes and Ipswich Town, as well as playing in Portugal last season which brought me out of my comfort zone and challenged me both on and off the pitch.”
Manager Rehanne Skinner said: “Sarah is an exciting homegrown talent, with a hard-working attitude and a real desire to learn and improve. Having played in the England age-group squads for a number of years, it’s clear that she has a lot of potential.
“We have no doubt Sarah’s creativity will add huge value to our squad and I look forward to working with her to fulfil that potential.”
