Saturday’s international friendlies featured a 3-0 win for USA over China, Venezuela defeating New Zealand 3-1 and Canada overcoming Haiti 4-1.

Catarina Macario opened the scoring for the USA, after Alyssa Thompson got the ball to her despite having been floored at the time. Macario soon turned provider for Sam Coffey and Lindsey Heaps headed in the third from a Michelle Cooper cross. The match saw Lo’eau LaBonta became the oldest ever USWNT debutant aged 32.

Deyna Castellanos gave Venezuela the lead over New Zealand in a game played in Marbella, Spain. Katie Kitching equalised when following up her own initial saved shot, but Mariana Romero restored the lead by half time and Malanie Chirinos sealed the victory from distance late on.

Adriana Leon struck twice in the first 10 minutes, as Canada beat Haiti in Winnipeg. Janine Sonis claimed four assists after also setting up Shelina Zadorsky and Olivia Smith to score, Batcheba Louis netting in-between for the visitors. The fixture marked the end of Desiree Scott’s international career, with her 188th cap for Canada.
