The FA Women’s National League 2026-27 fixtures were released today with the new season kicking off on Sunday 16 August.
The season will officially begin for Tier 3 and 4 sides on Sunday 16th August, running through until Sunday 25th April for Tier 4 and Sunday 2nd May for those in Tier 3. This season will see ten new teams entering the FA WNL, including newcomers Wycombe Wanderers and Torquay United who will be facing each other in their first game in Division 1 South West. Other newly promoted teams to Tier 4 include Thornaby, Chesterfield, Lye Town, Dartford, Saltdean United and Stevenage.
The excitement will build from day one, with the opening weekend packed full of thrilling match ups, including newly promoted Fulham taking on former WSL2 side Portsmouth in the Southern Premier Division. Having secured back-to-back promotions, Fulham arrive in Tier 3 as champions of Division 1 South East, and they will be looking to make an immediate impression at this level. They face opponents in Portsmouth, who bring considerable experience to the FA WNL, and are a team that will be retaining their full-time professional status this season. Both sides will be among the clubs to watch closely as the 26/27 season unfolds.
In Tier 4, the attention will be on Bristol Rovers vs Bridgwater United, two teams which finished third and fourth in Division 1 South West last season, and who will be pushing for promotion this season. Bridgwater United striker Meg Jarvis will be looking to get on the scoresheet as she heads back to her former club, where she was top goalscorer before transferring in December last season (17 goals in 19 games).
The FA WNL has also confirmed the schedule for the FA WNL Cup. Group stage fixtures get underway midweek from Tuesday 25th August and conclude on Sunday 27th September, with Round One of the Cup and Plate Knockout Stages following on Sunday 1st November.
